On Friday, September 15, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin introduced the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme, which gives women a Rs 1,000 monthly allowance on the anniversary of the DMK founder and former chief minister Annadurai's birth. At the scheme's launch in Kancheepuram, the birthplace of Annadurai, MK Stalin gave the recipients ATM cards. This plan is expected to help around 1.06 crore women in the state. 

The initiative is available to women above the age of 21 who have a family income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh per year, a family land holding of no more than 5 acres (wetland) and 10 acres (dryland), and an annual household energy usage of less than 3,600 units.

Speaking during the function, the Chief Minister claimed that he has been happier since the introduction of the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai than he has been with the majority of other government programs. ஸ்டாலின், The response I received from a woman gave me great pride in the plan and gave me hope that it can truly transform lives.

Stalin praised the labor that mothers and wives who choose to stay at home, saying that "a lot of invisible labor that goes on inside the house."  But the labor of stay-at-home moms is frequently disregarded by society. They are even labeled as "not working" individuals. Will we ever be able to pay them for the labor they did? This plan, in my opinion, is a first step toward paying for this labor. He went on to say that this program honors the labor of women who toil diligently without expecting anything in return. 

While his son, Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, stirred up controversy over Sanatana Dharma, the Chief Minister also poked fun at those who continue to repress women in the name of religion and keep them confined to their houses.,, But over time, women were forced to remain inside their homes due to repressive systems like religion. Some even stated that women and those from lower castes were inferior and shouldn't be allowed any agency. Not only did women from lower castes experience oppression, but also those from higher castes.

The Chief Minister continued, saying, "Child marriage was common." However, this is no longer the case. However, there are still some backward individuals who support child marriages nowadays. People like him have a never-ending grudge against the DMK because we have consistently fought for social justice, gender equality, and equality for all. 

The introduction of the initiative was held in each district of Tamil Nadu. The Hindu claims that out of the 1.63 crore applications received, 1,06,50,000 were selected for further consideration based on the eligibility requirements. Additionally, the state administration stated that the denied applicants may file an appeal of the ruling.
