Responding to this , Minister Geetha Jeevan said, " There is an exception that women in the family can also get the women's rights amount even if they receive the assistance for the differently abled. The Chief Minister also announced a grant of Rs 1,000 per month for differently abled women.

This has made the housewives happy with the announcement that a monthly amount of Rs 1000 will be given to the women's rights along with the regular assistance of Rs 1500 to the differently abled family.
In Tamil Nadu, about one crore 16 lakh beneficiaries were benefitted under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme earlier. Thousands of new applications for Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme are received every month, including newlyweds, new family cards, and college graduates.
