Relaxation in Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme conditions: When new applicants will get Rs. 1000 rupees? :


Udhayanidhi Stalin has spoken about when the new beneficiaries will get the right amount after the relaxation in the rules of the KMUT Scheme was announced.


In Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Stalin launched the KMUT Scheme on September 15, 2023, the birth anniversary of Perarignar Anna. The Government of Tamil Nadu is providing this entitlement to about 1 crore 14 lakh women every month through this scheme which supports the economic emancipation of women.


Ungaludan stalin camp :

It was announced that those who want to join the KMUT Scheme can join you through the Stalin Scheme Camp. Today, in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Special Projects Udhayanidhi Stalin spoke about the KMUT Scheme and the Stalin camp with you. He said that in the last 26 months, starting from September 2023 to this year - on 16th of this month - 1000 rupees have already been given. So far, our government has given about 26 thousand rupees to about one crore 14 lakh women of Tamil Nadu. I would like to record in this House that so far about 30 thousand crore rupees have been given as entitlements.


KMUT :

In this scheme, Chief Minister Stalin has relaxed some rules in order to benefit more women. For example, the Chief Minister announced in the House that in the government subsidy, families owning a 4-wheeler and families receiving OAP, the KMUT amount will be added to the women who meet the rules.


Government services :

In this context, our government launched the Stalin programme with you on 19-06-2025 with the aim of reaching out to the people with government services. In these camps, Government is providing 45 services through 15 Departments in rural areas and 43 services through 13 Departments in urban areas.


In the month of November :

Our Chief Minister announced that through these camps, applications will also be accepted under the KMUT . For this, it was announced by the government that 10,000 camps will be held till November 15. As on yesterday, 15-10-2025, 9,55 camps have been conducted. These camps are very popular among the people. So far, 28 lakh women have applied for the entitlement at the ' ungaludan stalin ' camps.


Rs 1,000 per month from December 15 :

The " ungaludan stalin " camps are scheduled to end on November 14, 2025. Meanwhile, the applications received for new entitlements are being scrutinized by the Revenue Department. All these works are expected to be completed by November 30, 2025. Based on the applications received at the camps, the Chief Minister has decided that the eligible women will be given the KMUT from December 15.  Petitions are being received through Stalin camps with you to apply under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme. Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said that this condition will be provided in 2 months. It is said that KMUT will be given to women as a Pongal gift. A cash prize of Rs 5,000 along with a Pongal gift package is expected to be given to women during the Pongal festival.


The Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme is considered to be one of the schemes that play an important role in ensuring social justice and financial independence of women in Tamil Nadu. The scheme has successfully completed two years since its first launch in September 2013.  According to the information released by the Tamil Nadu government, this fund will help reduce the expenses of every family head and directly improve their livelihood.


At the beginning of the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme, it was announced that the money would be given to everyone, but later it was changed to only eligible women. The lists of beneficiaries were then verified and some were deleted. At present, 1 crore 14 lakh beneficiaries are getting this amount every month. 15 per month in their bank accounts. Rs. 1,000 will be credited to their bank accounts. So far, eligible women who received new ration cards and were wrongly left out of the scheme were constantly complaining to the ministers of the DMK government and government officials.


Instead, in the last budget session, the government announced that the amount would be given to all eligible beneficiaries. New applications will be accepted from June 4. In addition, a large number of applications for women's rights have been received at the 'Stalin with you' camps, which have been running since July 15.


Stalin said :

More than 18 lakh applications have been received so far. The petitions will be considered within 45 days and women's rights will be paid to them soon. A few days ago, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said that in the next two months, scholarships under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme will be given to all eligible women.


Pongal Gift Package :

It is expected that the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai will be credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries as a Pongal gift in early January. It is said that the assistance will be given for the Pongal festival as the verification of documents is currently underway after the field survey. The Tamil Nadu government has already announced Pongal gift hampers for the festival.


Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme :

The Tamil Nadu government is also providing free dhotis and sarees. The Tamil Nadu government is expected to give cash along with the Pongal gift package this time in the run-up to the 2026 Assembly elections.
